In Stockholm, Sweden, the following teams will compete in the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship starting May 9th, 2025: Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Latvia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Slovenia. Of the 64 games in the tournament, 34 – including the gold medal game – will be held in Stockholm.

Which arena will host the games in Stockholm?
All the games in Stockholm will be played in the Globe Arena. With a capacity of 13 516 spectators the Globe Arena is used for high profile sport and music events. Last time the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships was held in Sweden in 2013 the Globe Arena was the venue and in 2021 the Globe Arena was renamed in honor of the late Swedish DJ Avicii. The Globe Arena will be closed for a year before reopening in January 2025, during which time it will undergo a complete modernization and renovation. Read more here!
How do I get around in Stockholm?
Much is within walking distance if you're up for it, but you can always take public transportation to the ‘Globen’ and ‘Gullmarsplan’ stations in Stockholm, from where it's hard to miss the Globe Arena. Read more about transportation and activities in Stockholm.
Can I travel between the venues for the finals?
Yes, the best way is to take the flight from Billund to Stockholm or the other way around.
Is the food good in Sweden?
Stockholm's restaurant scene is a melting pot of flavors from around the world. But of course, you'll find great examples of typical Swedish cuisine, often in contemporary interpretations.
