Behind the scenes, top IIHF scientists have been working tirelessly to bring you our second Power Rankings of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. Conducting rigorous, sophisticated tests in puck laboratories in Stockholm and Herning, our crack team has determined that Canada remains in first place with a perfect record and a tournament-leading 16-1 goal difference. Co-host Sweden, likewise perfect, holds on to second place after an impressive 2-1 win over archrival Finland. And the Germans, who have scored the second-most goals (15) through three games, defy the naysayers by nipping the defending champion Czechs for third place in such a perfect way. Who will shake things up next as we march through the preliminary round? Let the research continue in the puck laboratories!
