In our third Power Rankings of the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Canada holds on to top spot after crushing Slovakia 7-0 to maintain its perfect record. Host Sweden, likely on a collision course with Canada, retains second place on the strength of its also-unblemished record and three consecutive shutouts, including a 4-0 blanking of France. Meanwhile, the defending champion Czechs hold down third place, coming off a huge 8-1 win over Kazakhstan featuring captain Roman Cervenka’s hat trick in his 100th WM game. What’s in store before we reach the quarter-finals? Bring on the drama!
