BUDVAR ARENA
The hockey arena in České Budějovice is the home arena of the team HC Motor České Budějovice, which plays in the Czech top men's competition. The arena was first opened on 27 October 1946. Since then, it has undergone many renovations, most recently in 2001.
The ice rink is located 500m from the historical centre of České Budějovice. There are two separate indoor halls with an ice surface and the necessary wardrobe and sanitary facilities. There is also a restaurant and a daily buffet in the premises of the ice rink all available to the public.

HOW TO GET TO THE BUDVAR ARENA
We know it's tempting, but please don't try to drive to the arena. You could miss the opening face-off. At best... You don't want to miss the start of the game because you're stuck in traffic or can't find a place to park.
 
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS IN THE AREA OF THE ARENA:
During the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship, from 6 to 21 April in the vicinity of the hockey arena continuous closure of the F. A. Gerstnera Street, the section from Goethova street to Mánesova street.
Don't get stuck in traffic jams, hop on public transport. The closure does not apply to public transport, operation of the bus stop "U Zimního stadionu" will not be interrupted during the championship.

WITH A VALID TICKET YOU CAN USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT FREE OF CHARGE ONE HOUR BEFORE AND ONE HOUR AFTER THE GAME.

We invite you to arrive at the game early and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Official Fan Zone located few steps to the arena.

Where you can find useful information:
Don't waste time in queues, buy your public transport ticket directly from your mobile phone.

Individual transport

Park in the parking lot and arrive at the arena on foot or by public transport. During the championship, there will also be restrictions on bicycles, electric bicycles and electric scooters in the vicinity of the arena.

We need to get the arena in shape between games. However, we will do our best to open the turnstiles 60 minutes before each game.
 
You won't have to look far to find your entrance. The letter marking of the entrance is indicated on your ticket.

Leave everything else at home. This will help us make sure that the security checks at the entrance to the arena don't take forever and that you make the opening bully.
 
DEPOSIT/STORAGE
 
Going to the WWCH 2025 after work and need to store your laptop or umbrella? Or coming straight from the train and wondering what to do with your suitcase? You can use the deposit/storage facility just outside the Budvar Arena. There are two deposit/storage around the arena, another one by the fan zone.

The price for storage is 50 CZK or 2 Euros per item. You can pay in cash or by card​.
 
Important note: Bags bigger than 30 x 20 x 15 cm may not be taken into the arena.
 
Please note, however, that the capacity of the depository is limited. Therefore, do not take anything that you do not really need. The depot is mainly used to store oversized items.

BOX OFFICE

Want to try your luck and get a last-minute ticket on the spot? The box office in the arcade of the adjacent CITY CENTER CB will be open for you every game day. Sales will start 1 hour before the start of the first game of the day and will end with the final siren of the 1st period of the last game of the day, or when sold out.

Box Office Opening Hours:
April 9 – 11, 13 – 15, 19    from 10 am to the end of the 1st period of the game played at 7 pm
April 12                              from 2 pm to the end of the 1st period of the game played at 7 pm
April 17                              from 9 am to the end of the 1st period of the game played at 8:30 pm
April 20                              from 1 pm to the end of the 1st period of the game played at 6 pm

You can pay for your tickets in cash or by card.

OFFICIAL FAN ZONE

The official Fan Zone on Sokolský Island next to the arena is here for you, the fans, to enjoy the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship to the fullest! We will be screening the games every day. There will also be a display by the official main sponsor Skoda, a shop with official merchandising, hockey-themed competitions, plenty of food and drink, and concerts by your favourite bands. All this with the theme of THE HEROINES ARE COMING!

The Fan Zone will be open from 2 pm to 10 pm from 9 to 15 April, from 1 pm to 11 pm on Thursday 17 April, from 1 pm to 10 pm on the semi-final day on 19 April and from 10 am to 10 pm on the medal day. The Fan Zone is closed on non-game days, except for the University of South Bohemia Day on Wednesday, April 16. There, the gates of the Fan Zone on Sokol Island will be open from 9 am to 11 pm.

Participate in games and competitions, win some prizes or shop for souvenirs. Here you can also pay by card or cash.

Admission will of course be free but be prepared for security checks at the entrance. For security reasons, we won't let you in with bicycles or scooters, or with dangerous objects or your own food. Special arrangements will be made at the entrance for fans who are immobile, have a pacemaker or are expecting a new addition to the family.

Not to forget... If you smoke, including electronic cigarettes, you can only indulge your passion in designated areas.

IN THE ARENA

Food
If you get hungry before, during or after an exciting game, you can get something to eat at one of the food stalls inside and outside the arena. All drinks are served open, without lids for safety reasons, so just make sure you don't spill it when you celebrate a goal.

Toilets
Don't worry about not being able to go to the restroom during the break. There are toilets on "every corner" of our arena.

Smoking
As inconvenient as it may be for some of you, the WWCH 2025 also promote a healthy lifestyle, so smoking is prohibited throughout the arena, including electronic cigarettes. If you break this rule, you will "receive a Game Misconduct penalty".
