What do I get for volunteering?
In addition to an unforgettable experience, you will receive a official volunteer uniform, meals during your shift, the necessary training depending on your area of work, and you will be part of the ice hockey family.
Can I claim travel expenses?
Unfortunately not, travel expenses are covered by the volunteers themselves. However, the OC is working to find a solution so that public transportation in the fare zones around the arenas can be used free of charge. Further information will follow later.
Is the journey there and back by public transport included in my assignment?
No. However, regional public transport (2.class) in Zurich (Zurich public transport network, ZVV, all zones) and Fribourg (Frimobil network, all zones) is included for the journey to and from the respective assignment. The integration is only valid within the regional transport networks ZVV and Frimobil, not for the national rail network. The accreditation must be presented as a ticket.
Which zones are included in the accreditation?
Zurich: The accreditation is valid for all zones within the Zurich public transport network (ZVV).
Fribourg: The accreditation covers all zones within the Frimobil fare system.
I will be setting off from a location outside of the ZVV zones. Can I still use my accreditation to travel to and from my assignment at a reduced rate?
The integrated ticket is valid from the first station within the local network at which the train/bus actually stops. This means that if you take a direct train from Baden to Zurich without stopping, the integrated ticket will only become valid from Zurich Main Station. By contrast, if you take the S-Bahn from Baden, the integrated ticket will become valid from the Dietikon stop onwards. For the portion of the journey from Baden to Dietikon, you will need to buy and have with you a standard public transport ticket from the normal range on offer.

What else should be kept in mind during volunteer work?
- Intoxicants: The consumption of alcohol and other intoxicants is prohibited during work assignments. Smoking is restricted to work breaks.
- Accreditation: Accreditation must be worn visibly throughout the entire duration of the assignment. Accreditation is personal and non-transferable. Misuse of accreditation will result in immediate withdrawal and exclusion from all volunteer activities. Access to the accreditation zones is only permitted during working hours.
